Invoice expiration date

I have files in Honeybook (contracts) set to expire within 3 days. I've had files expire but clients still paying the retainer because the invoice itself doesn't expire.

I can try an explain - in our CRM system, HoneyBook - we are able to send a proposal with an expire date (a contract and invoice) which then will close the file from being signed or paid. I use HoneyBook to expire the contract but when I send the invoice (using Maroo) in the same proposal it will just say "overdue" for when the payment was "due" and they still have a chance to pay the invoice even if the file on HoneyBook has expired. Hope that makes sense
